First Visit

We ask that first visit patients fill out several forms. Once you make an appointment with us, we will send you these forms electronically via email. Patients can fill these out and return them via email, or please arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment time and you can fill out the forms at the clinic.

Please make sure that you never come hungry to an appointment. Though our treatment processes can seem subtle, they can be quite demanding to your body.

As a first step, your acupuncturist will meet with you to discuss your specific concerns and create a personalized treatment plan based on your conditions.

You will then be guided into one of our treatment rooms. You may be asked to partially disrobe. In this case, towels will be provided for proper draping. If you prefer, you may bring loose-fitting shorts and/or a t-shirt to change into for your treatment.

Your acupuncturist will provide your treatment. After she is done with the needles, she will leave the room so that you can relax and rest while the needles work on your Qi. Your acupuncturist may come in during this time to stimulate the needles more and check if you are okay. This process can take 30 to 45 minutes.

When it is time, your acupuncturist will enter the room and remove all the needles. If there is a specific time you must leave by, please let us know and we can make accommodations. Once your acupuncturist leaves the room, you can put your clothes back on and meet her at the reception desk for payment and schedule any follow-up appointments.

For follow-up treatments, every visit will be different according to how your symptoms are changing and improving. In Chinese Medicine, we call this “chasing the dragon”. Usually, subsequent visits last 45 minutes to 1 hour, but this can also fluctuate depending on where you are in your healing process and what treatments are needed.
